How do I record internal tutorials?

As most companies, you strive to have a good knowledge base where your users can find answers and solutions to their questions and problems.

As we use Microsoft technology, we have access to tools like Microsoft Stream that I like.

So whenever I need to create a video, I have four tools that I use:

  • Stream or OBS Studio
  • ZoomIt
  • Shotcut

For the most basic videos, I will use Stream to record my session:

Really easy to start a recording of a window or screen. And if you like, add the webcam as well as a small thumbnail in the corner.
As there is no built-in annotation tools in Stream yet, I will use ZoomIt whenever I need to zoom, draw or write some text.

After the recording is done, the video is already in Stream and ready to be shared. I can of course download it as a MP4 file and upload somewhere else or edit more in Shotcut if needed.

The first blog post

Hey!

Finally, I have a blog area where I can share experiences from my life with managing a PC platform, or as I call it, the "Digital Workplace".

As being employed on a small company compared to companies like Microsoft etc., you end up doing a lot of stuff and become broad in your knowledge.
